Torres suffers tough loss to Sierra

Benny Munoz/The Madera Tribune

Matilda Torres’ Amani Sua slides in past the pick-off attempt during Tuesday’s 3-1 loss to Sierra. However, Sua later stole second and third to score the Toros’ lone run.

In a pitcher’s dual, the Sierra Chieftains did just enough for a 3-1 victory over the Matilda Torres Toros at Torres.

Matt Escoto allowed just four hits over six innings for the Toros, but he allowed three runs, two earned. He walked four, but struck out six.

The Torres offense managed just four hits against Sierra’s starter.
