The Matilda Torres Toros cross country team celebrates the first place team award after setting the team record for the best time at Woodward Park at last week’s Rough Rider Invitational.

The Matilda Torres Toros boys cross country team is not resting on its laurels after winning a Central Section Championship last year.

The Toros ran through the rest of the teams at the Roosevelt Rough Rider Cross Country Invitational at Woodward Park last week to set a new team time record at Woodward Park.

The Toros’ time of 77:31 eclipsed the previous mark of 77:48, set by Buchanan in 2008.
