The Matilda Torres Toros girls basketball team earned the No. 2 seed in the Div. VI Central Section playoffs and made school history.
With the tip-off Tuesday evening, the Toros became the first team to host a playoff game on the Torres campus in school history. About an hour-and-a-half later, the girls became the first team to win a home playoff game on campus in school history with a 63-26 rout over the 15th seeded Tranquillity Tigers.
The Toros opened the game on a roll and never let up while instituting the 40-point running clock in the fourth quarter.
