Torres grinds out NYL-opening victory

The Matilda Torres Toros football team found something that worked and went to it time after time after time in a 35-14 victory over the Roosevelt Rough Riders to open North Yosemite League play.
The Toros rushed the ball 40 times in 49 plays Friday night, and averaged 8.7 yards per play while gaining 347 yards on the ground at Madera South.
Amani Sua led the way with 192 yards on 23 carries with a touchdown. Joseph bass scored a pair of touchdowns and rushed for 109 yards on 12 carries.
