Matilda Torres’ Aiden Medina celebrates at second base following a one-out double in the fifth inning. He would later score the fifth run in Tuesday’s 5-2 victory over Madera South.
The Matilda Torres Toros baseball team did enough for a 5-2 victory over the Madera South Stallions in the final week of the regular season at Eddie Chapa Field.
The Toros jumped out to a 5-0 lead and held off the Stallions on Tuesday to put a damper on the Stallions’ Senior Night honoring Gilbert Moisa, Eric Gallegos and Octavio Flores.
Joseph Bass got the win on the mound for the Toros. He tossed five innings of five-hit ball. He allowed one run, walked three and struck out seven. He also went 3-for-3 at the plate with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI.
