Torres can’t keep up with Sunnyside

Torres running back Joseph bass stiff-arms a Sunnyside defender in Friday’s loss. Bass rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns in against the Wildcats.

The Matilda Torres Toros and their offensive attack couldn’t keep up with the Sunnyside offense during a North Yosemite League showdown Friday night.

The Toros outgained Sunnyside 430-411, but the Wildcats and their backyard passing game were too much in a 60-47 victory over the Toros to grasp sole possession of first place in the NYL.

Joseph Bass kept up his hot-NYL rushing attack. He carried for 190 yards, and averaged almost 12 yards per carry. The Toros’ running game gained 204 yards while the passing game gained 226 yards, including three touchdowns from quarterback Jose Soriano.
