Toros wins first flag football game

Torres’ Yarissa Oceguera-Barriga runs alone into the end zone to score one of her three touchdowns in Thursday’s flag football victory over Sunnyside.
The Matilda Torres Toros flag football team became a first Madera team win an official flag football game after a 55-0 victory over the Sunnyside Wildcats at the new Torres stadium.
The Toros easily overmatched the Wildcats. The Toros, with their 25 players, wore down the Wildcats to score five second half touchdowns.
Quarterback Nevaeh Chavez threw for six touchdowns. She also ran for a touchdown. Jasmine Garcia closed the scoring with a pick-six from 35 yards out.
