The Matilda Torres Toros girls basketball team used its full-court press defense to wear down the Justin Garza Guardians in a non-conference game at Torres.

Down by two at the half Monday evening, the Toros outscored the Guardians 33-17 in the second half for the win despite missing 12 layups and shooting just 3-of-19 from 3-point land, including 0-for-10 in the first half.

The Toros defense forced 32 turnovers in the game with center J’Lynn Mitchell acting like a safety in the full-court press. She ended with eight steals and a game-high 20 points.
