The Matilda Torres Toros boys volleyball team found themselves in a 2-0 deficit and with little chance of overcoming their own mistakes to the Madera Coyotes in Joe Flores Gym.
However, the Toros regrouped and pulled off the biggest win of the fledgling program’s history Tuesday in the Coyotes’ home opener.
After losing the first two sets 25-11 and 25-13, the Toros came back with two 25-22 wins and a 15-9 win in the pivotal fifth set.
