Toros overtake Stallions in four

The Matilda Torres Toros girls volleyball team controlled the service line, and handed the Madera South Stallions a 3-1 match loss Thursday to begin the second round of North Yosemite League play.
The Toros served up 22 aces, including 10 in a first set 25-10 victory. Although they had 13 missed serves, the Stallions registered 16 missed serves and just nine aces.
Torres’ Sarah Guillen served up a match-high seven aces. J’Lynn Mitchell added five more. Catalina Norwood had four for the Toros.
