Torres’ Lexi Heredia rises up for a kill in Wednesday’s five-set loss to Pacheco. Heredia had five kills and five blocks in the match.

From the start, it looked like the Matilda Torres Toros girls volleyball team was going to come away with a three-set sweep over the visiting Pacheco Panthers from Los Banos.

However, the Toros couldn’t hold onto a 22-16 third set lead and the Panthers came all the way back to win the fifth set 15-13 to take the match.

The match was even throughout. Pacheco won the match by a combined 108-105. However, it was the feeling of losing a late eight-point lead that will linger over the Toros.
