More than 130 Associate Student Body Leadership students from Madera, Madera South and Matilda Torres high schools participated in the second annual Madera Unified School District Day of Service.
The students gave back to their community by volunteering Wednesday at the Madera Rescue Mission, the Madera County Animal Shelter.
About half of the students helped clean up Millviw Soccer Complex and Rotary Park. About 20 other students helped at the Animal Shelter, the Community Garden near the John Wells Youth Center and about 10 students per school helped at the Madera Rescue Mission.
