Madera South’s Lisania Diaz keeps her eye on the ball during the second half of Tuesday’s 2-1 overtime playoff victory over Yosemite. The win sent the Stallions to the Div. III quarterfinals against top seed Central Valley Christian.
After allowing a last second goal in regulation, the Madera South Stallions girls soccer team got a last minute goal in overtime for a 2-1 victory over the Yosemite Badgers in the Div. III Central Section first-round playoff game.
The eight-seeded Stallions got an early goal, but had to overcome a crazy goal from ninth-seeded Yosemite to get the victory. They played top seed Central Valley Christian in Visalia on Thursday in the quarterfinals.
However, the Badgers seemed to have the momentum after scoring a late goal in regulation, but the Stallions rebounded in overtime.
