Stallions pick up non-conference win

The Madera South Stallions girls basketball team used a dominant second quarter to cruise to a 34-24 victory over the Firebaugh Eagles.
The Stallions committed just one turnover in the second quarter while outscoring the Eagles, 15-5, to take a 23-12 halftime lead, a lead they held most of Friday’s game.
Marylin Vasquez was the only Stallion in double figures with 17 points. She also had seven rebounds. Michelle Corona also had seven rebounds to go with a team-leading four steals with four points.
