Madera South’s Isabel Del Rio arrives safely at second after a stolen base Wednesday afternoon. Del Rio had three hits and scored a run in Wednesday’s victory over Dos Palos.
The Madera South Stallions softball team came back from a 4-2 deficit to pick up a 6-4 non-league victory over Dos Palos.
After waiting out the rain for a week, the Stallions finally made it back to the field after not playing since March 8. After Dos Palos jumped out to a two-run lead, the Stallions scored four unanswered runs to pick up their first win of the season.
“The girls rallied together and played as one unit,” head coach Peter Gallegos said. “Our outfield (Lupita Romero, Isabel Del Rio and Brianna Zaragoza) played well, catching everything that was hit in the air. It was a great team win.”
