Wendy Alexander/The Madera Tribune

Madera South’s Hasani Heard drives the lane to score two of his team-high 11 points in Wednesday’s 53-50 loss to the McLane Highlanders.

The Madera South Stallions took the early lead, but lost it late in a 53-50 loss to the McLane Highlanders in a County/Metro Athletic Conference game at Madera South.

The Stallions led three minutes into the game and held it most of the game, even taking the lead up to 12 points. However, McLane made a fourth quarter run and held on for the victory.

The Highlanders outscored the Stallions 19-8 in the fourth quarter to pick up the victory. Madera South took eight straight 3-pointers, and missed seven to allow Fresno to come back. Also, some ill-timed backcourt turnovers helped the McLane comeback.
