Stallions fall in quarterfinals

The Strathmore Spartans used a dominant second and third quarter to down the Madera South Stallions in the quarterfinals of the Div. V boys basketball playoffs.
The No.2 seeded Stallions were outscored 37-19 in the middle two quarters as the Spartans turned a five-point deficit into a 13-point lead. Sixth-seeded Strathmore closed out the game for a 63-36 victory Wednesday at Madera South.
The Stallions had trouble keeping the momentum and the rhythm. The Stallions also shot just 20 percent (4-of-20) from 3-point land and were just 2-of-9 from the free throw line.
