Stallions cross country star to be inducted

One of the first cross country standouts for Madera South will be inducted with the 10th class of Madera Athletic Hall of Fame inductees.

Jose Herrera won two individual Central Section cross country championships with the Stallions, and also led the Stallions to four Central Section championship, which extended the run to five straight titles for Madera South. He also led the Stallions to a fifth place state championship finish.

“We were supposed to be on the podium, but things happen,” he said. “The only thing you can do is learn from those things.”
