The Madera South Stallions baseball team bounced back from a lackluster outing in the North Yosemite League opener to Sunnyside with a 9-3 victory Thursday at Eddie Chapa field.
“It’s nice to bounce back,” head coach Alan Sandoval said. “We played a lot cleaner defensively. We took advantage of situations. It was nice to get some good hits, finally. Our baseball IQ was higher today. Something happened on Tuesday where our IQ went out the door, completely. We did a great job of running the bases.”
Gilbert Moisa led the Stallions, both at the plate and on the mound. He tossed a complete game, scattering five hits. He allowed three runs, two earned with nine strikeouts and three walks.
