Solo crash leads to death

California Highway Patrol Madera responded to a solo vehicle traffic crash on Ellis Street, east of Chapin Street, involving a white van with a possible ejection on Saturday at about 11 p.m.

During the investigation, it was determined a 66-year-old man from Madera, was driving a white 1954 Chevrolet van eastbound on Ellis Street, at an unknown speed, approaching Chapin Street.  

The Chevrolet traversed the intersection and the driver turned to the right. The van left the roadway and entered the south shoulder of Ellis Street, east of Chapin Street.
