Second half surge lifts Stallions over Hawks

Madera South’s Angel Paramo drives through contact to score two of his game-high 17 points in Monday’s comeback victory over the Liberty Hawks.

 

The Madera South Stallions boys basketball team overcame four technical fouls to pull out a second half comeback victory over the Liberty Hawks in a non-conference game.


In a foul-fest of a game that saw two Liberty players foul out, the Stallions outscored Liberty 31-17 in the second half, including a 15-0 fourth quarter run to seal a 55-47 victory Monday at Liberty.


Madera South’s Angel Paramo led all scorers with 17 points to go with seven steals. He was also 7-of-9 from the free throw line. David Lorta scored 11 points off the bench, and Hasani Heard scored eight points with nine rebounds. Elias Maciel also scored eight points.
