Second half downs Stallions’ basketball

Madera South’s David Lorta skies to the rim to score two of his team-high 16 points in Monday’s loss to the Hoover Patriots.

Despite their struggles this season, first year Madera South Stallions boys basketball head coach Colton Hafey is urging his team to keep competing, no matter what the score is.

His team did just that in the first half against the Hoover Patriots. They surprised the Patriots and only trailed by two at the half. However, the Patriots blitzed the Stallions in the second half, 46-9, for a 76-37 victory Monday.

Hafey was happy about what his team was able to do in the first half, but inconsistencies that have plagued his team all year, also played a part in the second half.
