An event is planned for Madera Scout Troop 116 to celebrate its 75th anniversary on Saturday, from noon-4 p.m., at Madera United Methodist Church, 500 Sunset Avenue.
The troop was established in 1949, and for the past 75 years, has served Madera with its community service, and has shaped the lives of many young people. If anyone has been a part of scouting through troop membership or leadership, they are encouraged to attend this special event.
This will be potluck style, and the Scouts will barbecue hamburgers and hot dogs. If anyone is planning to attend, please RSVP so the Scouts will know how much to cook. Guests may email troop_116@yahoo.com, or text 559-474-9731 to make reservations. If anyone has scouting pictures from past 116 Boy Scout adventures, please bring them for a scrapbook.
