Madera South pitcher Nathan Ruiz throws a pitch in the first inning of Friday’s two-hit complete game victory over Minarets. He struck out 10 and walked three in the win.
Madera South Stallions baseball head coach Alan Sandoval turned to Nathan Ruiz against the Minarets Mustangs and he didn’t take the ball from him in a 3-2 victory at Eddie Chapa Field.
Ruiz tossed 104 pitches in a complete game victory for the Stallions’ first win of the season. He struck out 10 and allowed just two hits and one earned run.
“Ruiz was big-time,” Sandoval said. “He solidified himself as our No. 2. He did his job and threw strikes. He hasn’t pitched in years. It showed a little, especially in the first batter of the innings.”
