Madera’s Faith Rocha shows off the medals she won at the most recent Long Beach International Karate Championship.
Recent Madera High School graduate Faith Rocha competed in the Long Beach International Karate Championships over the weekend and brought home a gold and bronze medal.
Rocha faced competitors from all over the world and she even had to move up to a more competitive bracket because there was no one in her classification.
Rocha earned a gold medal in forms and a bronze medal for sparring.
She has competed in the competition for many years and has earned silver and bronze medals for the past 10 years.
“Competition is tough and training is even more difficult, but perseverance and hard work shows in all the competitors,” Rocha’s father, Mike said.
