Pursuit leads to stolen vehicle

Madera Police Officer Jeremy McCool attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign.

The driver of the vehicle fled from McCool, and a short pursuit ensued. The driver failed to negotiate a turn in the area of Sherwood Way and Sonora Street, and collided into a fence.

The driver, 18-year-old Amado Sanchez-Garcia, fled from the collision on foot. Officers established a perimeter in the area, and, with the assistance of our great citizens and K-9 Goose, he was located and apprehended quickly, without injury.
