The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware that a man has been making phone calls to citizens throughout the county impersonating a Sheriff’s Sergeant regarding posting bail for outstanding warrants. This is a scam, the MCSO warns.
The Sheriff’s Office will never request funds or personal identifying information over the phone. If anyone receives a phone call of this nature, contact Madera County Sheriff’s Dispatch at 675-7770.
Based on the information the MCSO has been provided, the man identifies himself as Madera County Sergeant Noland. He makes phone calls from a 559 area code, and may have a voicemail set up at the return number with the same identifying information.
