I am one of them. One of the millions of registered voters across the entire political spectrum who is hoping for a third choice in the November presidential elections. I’m also a realist. Once Nikki Haley turned down the opportunity to be the No Party candidate, it seemed clear that there would be only two choices (and perhaps a spoiler or two) on the ballot. And neither of the two major-party candidates, for a wide variety of reasons, is the ideal choice to be Leader of the Free World for the next four years. In addition, one is the oldest candidate to have his name appear on the ballot for one of the two major political parties, and he has questionable physical and mental issues. The other has had 91 criminal charges levied against him during the campaign.
So, for people like me, November will not be a pleasant month. No matter what the outcome of the election, one of the worst candidates in modern American history will have won the Presidency.
In the meanwhile, I thought it might be fun to speculate about the candidate whose first criminal trial ended with 34 verdicts of “Guilty,” and who might be sentenced to prison. What happens if (A) he is elected as our next president, and (B) he is sentenced to prison?
