The Madera Unified Board of Education met to discuss various items on their biweekly agenda. One notable item was the introduction of two new principals taking over at La Vina and Cesar Chavez elementary schools.
“We have two really proud schools, both in need of a long-term principal,” MUSD Superintendent Todd Lile said at Tuesday’s board meeting. “One, because we had a longstanding, very dedicated leader at Chavez, Stephanie McPherson, who is retiring. And one, because we have a very talented and highly respected educational leader at La Vina, who will take on the work at King Husein (School) when it opens.”
La Vina Elementary School, which opened in 1980 with years of great tradition and a staff dedicated to helping its students, sees its current principal, Christina Riché, succeeded by Nicole Lack.
