MPD makes arson arrest

Madera Police officers make the arrest of Kristy Pettitt who was seen starting fires at Lions Town and Country Park and to a vehicle.

With the help of concerned citizens, the Madera Police Department, along with members of the Madera City Fire Department worked together to locate and arrest 41-year-old Kristy Pettitt.

Pettitt was identified by witnesses setting fire at Lions Town and County Park, as well as setting fire to a vehicle at a nearby residence. 

“The speedy response and cohesive partnerships between agencies and our citizens continues to help our efforts against arsons in the city and solidify necessary arrests,” said the Madera PD in a statement.
