MPD investigates shooting

Madera Police Department officers responded to the 200 block of Solano St. regarding a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.

When officers arrived Monday just before midnight, they located a 60-year-old victim inside the residence with a single gunshot wound to her upper torso.

During the investigation, it was determined that a 61-year-old male discharged a firearm striking the victim inside the residence. All involved parties were contacted on scene and the victim was later transported to Community Regional Medical Center’s trauma center for medical treatment.
