Coarsegold’s John Baker has been showcasing Christmas magic with his two-corner home display for many years. He stands with one of his favorite piece, a nine-foot tall St. Bernard inflatable. This is the final year of his magical display at 32370 Chickasaw Road.
For decades, John Baker, affectionately known as the “Mountain Man,” has brought Christmas magic to Coarsegold with his dazzling holiday display.
Now 77, Baker reflects on a tradition rooted in childhood inspiration, perseverance, and a commitment to spreading joy.
Growing up in Monterey Park, Baker admired his best friend Ralph’s family, who transformed their home into a Christmas wonderland.
