MCSO Reserve Deputy honored with Meritorious Service award

Madera County Sheriff’s Officer Reserve Deputy Les Esparza is honored with the 2024 California Reserve Peace Officers Association’s Meritorious Service Award at a conference in August.
Earlier this month, at the Annual Reserve Peace Officers Conference (ARPOC), Madera County Sheriff’s Reserve Deputy Les Esparza was presented with the 2024 California Reserve Peace Officers Association’s Meritorious Service Award.
Lester “Les” Esparza has been a Reserve Deputy with the Madera County Sheriff’s Office for nine years.
In 2023, he dedicated over 1,064 hours of service, which included firearms range instruction, as well as school and public safety details. He was also a critical member of the Office of Emergency Services team that provided assistance to residents that were impacted during the 2023 winter storm events.
