Sue Monreal.
Most of Sue (Romias) Monreal’s life has been surrounded by athletics, which started during her years at Madera High School.
A 1963 graduate, Monreal was one of the Valley’s best divers and was a good swimmer until she stopped. She set records and kept her athletic prowess, turning later to golf and tennis.
However, it was what she did at Madera that earned her a spot with the 10th class of Madera Athletic Hall of Fame inductees, which will receive induction Saturday night.
