Madera American’s Michael Granado swings for a hit during Wednesday’s victory over Madera National. He had a single and scored two runs in the win that sent Madera American to the District 10 title game Thrusday.
Earlier in the week, the Madera American Little league 8-10-year-old All-Star team dropped a 6-2 game to the Sunnyside All-Stars to send them into the loser’s bracket of the District 10 All-Star tournament.
However, the Madera American All-Stars battled back with a 7-4 victory Wednesday over Madera National to earn a rematch with Sunnyside on Thursday to decide the District 10 crown. However, Madera American has to defeat Sunnyside twice to win the title. Games were played Thursday and Friday (if necessary) evenings and results weren’t available at press time.
While the Madera American All-Stars played errorless ball in the 7-4 victory in the semifinals, the Madera National All-Stars committed three error, which led to six unearned runs.
