Major Injury crash involving MUSD bus

A Madera Unified School District bus is lifted on a tow truck following an accident on Avenue 12 and Road 26 on Friday.
California Highway Patrol Madera officers responded to a crash involving a school bus and a big rig, at the intersection of Avenue 12 and Road 26 on Friday at about 11:25 a.m.
Officers saw a Madera Unified School District School Bus blocking the intersection, facing in a southerly direction, with major front-end damage. A three-axle Freightliner dump truck was located on the northwest corner of the intersection, also with major front-end damage.
Preliminary investigation indicates a 72-year-old male was driving the school bus, traveling northbound on Road 26, at Avenue 12. A 58-year-old male was driving a 2014 Freightliner dump truck, traveling westbound on Avenue 12, approaching Road 26.
