MadTown Robotics celebrates winning its third F.I.R.S.T. World Championship on Saturday in Houston.
Madera Unified School District’s MadTown Robotics arrived at Fresno Yosemite Airport Easter afternoon to a hero’s welcome after capturing its third F.I.R.S.T. (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) World Championship over the weekend.
The MadTown Robotics team had to come-from-behind to capture the championship. MadTown’s alliance lost the first match, 281-295. They won the second match 285-274 to force a deciding game.
They awaited the results of the third match in the best-of-three format. When their “blue” alliance was announced the winner, 293-276, MadTown Robotics claimed its third World Championship after wins in 2019 and 2023.
