Madera schools prepare for year at Robert Arballo

The Madera South Stallions wrestling team has hosted an early-season tournament that has become one of the premier early season tournaments in the Central Section, if not the state.
Forty-five teams from throughout the state descended upon Madera South for the annual Robert Arballo Holiday Hammer Invitational that featured almost 500 wrestlers among the 14 weight classes.
“Being a good host is important,” Madera South head coach Al Lopez said. “Being efficient is another. We started on time every single round. And by having a great announcer in Anthony Morales, having person who runs the computer-side, Josh Adams makes it run smoothly Both guys are athletic directors out of the area, but they came here to help me out. I’m blessed to even have them to work with.
