Madera pummels Sierra Pacific

Wendy Alexander/The Madera Tribune

Madera’s Mark Huarte connects on a second inning single during Friday’s 10-1 victory over Sierra Pacific. He had two hits and scored two runs while also picking up the win on the mound in the win.

The Madera Coyotes baseball team played good hosts by allowing its game with the Sierra Pacific Bears to be moved up to a 3 p.m. start to allow the Bears to root on their basketball team in the Central Section championships later that night.

However, that was as good as hosts as the Coyotes were. They scored all 10 runs of a 10-1 victory in the final three innings Friday at Mel Parker Field.

Sierra Pacific’s lone run was a fourth inning home run that gave them a short-lived lead. Sierra Pacific pitchers walked five batters and threw six wild pitches.
