Madera National’s Leo Barajas slides through the legs of Madera American catcher Carlos Hernandez to score the game-winning run in Tuesday’s District 10 championship game with umpire Scott Varela looking on to make the call.

The Madera National Little League 9-12-year-old All-Star team, with their backs against the wall, battled back for a 4-3, eight inning victory over the Madera American Little League to force a deciding game for the District 10 championship.

Madera National got a pitching performance for the ages from Brandon Dominguez and pushed over a run in the bottom of the eighth inning Tuesday evening to force a do-or-die game Wednesday against Madera American.

The National All-Stars lost to Madera American on Sunday, 7-4. The win sent Madera American straight to the championship game while Madera National had to defeat Chowchilla on Monday to advance to the rematch.
