The City of Madera Fire Department, in cooperation with CAL FIRE, recently arranged a visit from Fire Chief Arturo Delgado and Assistant Fire Chief Manuel Ornelas of Cuerpo De Bomberos Del Rio Colorado in San Luis Colorado, Sonora, Mexico to accept a donation of equipment.
Every 10 years, fire departments throughout the state replace Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure compliance with CAL-OSHA regulations. Rather than discarding existing inventory that is still in good working condition, the equipment is donated. More specifically, the City’s donation will outfit two fire stations in San Luis Colorado. Chief Delgado and Chief Ornelas were thrilled to accept the donations of PPE on behalf of their respective commands.
The fire department is grateful that the equipment will be put to good use and for the opportunity to assist their firefighting comrades and for the professionalism of Fire Chief Delgado and Ornelas. The City of Madera Fire Department looks forward to continuing its newfound friendship long into the future.
