Madera FFA hosts Ag Literacy days

Wendy Alexander/The Madera Tribune

Madera Unified TKfirst grade students attend Madera FFA’s annual Ag Literacy Days event at Madera South High School and get to each pick out a pumpkin to take home. Madera FFA is hosting a pumpkin patch on campus for the community with a variety of pumpkins for sale, cash only.

Madera FFA hosted its annual Ag Literacy Days to almost 1,200 kindergarten through first grade students from Madera Unified School District.

Children from Madera Unified elementary school visited the Madera South farm where they were introduced to many aspects of agriculture.

FFA members guided the students through activity stations where they experienced a petting zoo, planted pumpkin seeds and created a picture book showing an orange’s farm-to-table journey.
