Madera County schools receive COVID tests

For The Madera Tribune

Boxes of COVID-19 test kits sit in a warehouse, ready for distribution throughout Madera County.

Cecilia Massetti, Madera County Superintendent of Schools, announced that Madera County schools have received 70,904 individual COVID test kits from the State of California.

The test kits are promised for school districts, charter schools and private schools to arrive before spring break. These tests kits are different from the previous shipment; they are individually packaged, whereas the previous kits had two tests per package.

Madera County has received its kits, which have been distributed to nearly all the school districts with just a few left to be picked up. Schools will notify parents of the distribution in the next few weeks before schools close for April breaks.
