Longtime photographer honored with induction
For The Madera Tribune
Alan Brown.
For many years, the only way for Madera athletes to see themselves in action was through the lens of longtime photographer and Madera Tribune contributor Alan Brown.
“He gave a lot to Madera, and it’s great to be recognized,” said Brown’s daughter, Diane Fischer. “He never wanted recognition. He just did it for the love of the sports. He made a mark on a lot of these kids, especially some of the kids who only played one year. He helped them make a memory. They will always have that picture. It says a thousand words.”
Brown will be officially inducted into the Madera Athletic Hall of Fame next Saturday, however his induction comes with an asterisk. Brown is officially a member of the 2022 class that was previously inducted. However, Fischer and her family were out of the country during the induction ceremony. Therefore, his induction was held off until this year.
