Little mistakes led to Madera loss

Benny Munoz/The Madera Tribune

Madera’s Malea Ricks slides past the Clovis North catcher’s tag to score the first run of the game in a 7-3 loss Tuesday.

As has been their M.O. early in the season, bad defense helped lead to a loss for the Madera Coyote softball team.

Over the weekend, the Coyotes lost a game where they committed six errors and allowed three unearned runs.

In Tuesday’s 7-3 loss to Clovis North, the Coyotes allowed five unanswered after taking a 1-0 and 3-2 lead at Zimmerman Field. Madera committed four errors that led to five unearned runs.
