Little mistakes add to loss

Madera’s Sadie Gonzalez safely slides into third base, and later scored, during Tuesday’s loss.
The Madera Coyotes had the opportunity to pick up a solid victory over the Buchanan Bears, but too many little mistakes ultimately hurt them in a 9-5 loss Tuesday at Zimmerman Field.
The Coyotes took a 3-0 lead into the fourth inning, but the Bears scored seven straight runs to take the lead. Madera battled back with a pair of runs before the Bears added two more in the seventh for the victory.
The Coyotes committed three errors, which led to four unearned runs from losing pitcher Jayleen Gutknecht. The capper was an obstruction call on catcher Emily Erwin that didn’t look like it from Madera’s point of view.
