In politics, accusations and denials fly back and forth from all parties. This election year is no different.
What is different is that the 2024 election features two candidates with track records that we can examine. Kamala Harris is the current vice president and Donald Trump served four years as president. In spite of all the spitting and sparring, we already know how they will perform.
On the one hand, Trump is telling us what he plans to do, and to a large extent we have already seen him do it. In his first term he did not end democracy, did not become a dictator, and did not instigate a bloodbath.
