Ken Taylor Boy of the Year named

Nine honor students receive Boy of the Month awards at Madera Rotary’s ceremony dinner Tuesday. Matilda Torres High School senior Jose E. Rodriguez Vargas, was named the 29th annual Ken Taylor Boy of the Year at a ceremony dinner held by the Madera Rotary Club.

Vargas was very surprised at being the one chosen for this honor, and he gave a sincere and humble acceptance speech as he received the award Tuesday at the Madera Golf and Country Club.

The Madera Rotary Club honored Vargas, as well as other accomplished students from Madera high schools, all of which were Boys of the Month for the past school year.
