K-9 Obie honored by Supes

Madera County K-9 officer Obie and his handler Daniel Grever accept proclamations and gifts during the Madera County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday. Obie was wounded in the line of duty and was the first K-9 officer to receive a Supervisors’ proclamation.
In a first for Madera County, the Board of Supervisors honored a law enforcement K-9 officer.
Officer Obie was given recognition and praise for his bravery and heroism in the line of duty during the special meeting held Tuesday morning.
County Supervisors also acknowledged February as Black History Month. NAACP Madera Chapter Vice President and Madera City Councilmember Anita Evans of District 4 joined member Benjamin Harrow in receiving the proclamation.
