Illegal U-turn at fault in crash

A car sits in the middle of the intersection of Madera Avenue at State Route 99 after an illegal U-turn resulted in a three-vehicle crash.

Madera Police officers responded to a multiple vehicle collision at the intersection of Madera Avenue and State Route 99.

After arriving, officers learned that a vehicle was traveling north on Madera Avenue, and attempted to make a U-turn at the intersection with Olive Avenue on Saturday at about 6 p.m.

There is a posted “No U-Turn” sign at the intersection, and the light for the direction the driver was headed was red.
